Rosemarie Pottinger, LNHA
Rosemarie has spent many years working in a wide range of positions in healthcare. She brings with her a transformational style of leadership to Putnam Ridge. She was recognized by The American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA) in 2015 with the "Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award" for Administrators whose teams have achieved dimensions of organizational quality that few others have been able to reach.
Her focus continues to be quality and operations improvement within the facility that benefits resident, family members and staff. She continues to share core values with the team of integrity, passion, excellence and respect, and is aligned with a team with those values and purpose as well.
I started my career in 1975 in an acute hospital setting. I worked in an acute setting for 13 years before making the transition to long term care. I have been at Putnam Ridge for the past 8 years.
I know that the mission of providing our residents with love, compassion and respect is carried out on a daily basis by our wonderful and caring nursing staff.
I have devoted much of my Physical Therapy career to gerontology. I am dedicated to helping the elderly reach their maximum potential by working closely with each resident and their families to set and work towards their individualized goals. I find that having a positive approach helps residents focus on their accomplishments and feel proud of their progress. I take a great deal of pride in our highly experienced and dedicated staff who provide excellent and comprehensive quality of care, and make a difference in the lives of our residents each and everyday.
My strong connection with my Grandparents led me to a career path in geriatrics. Twenty three years later, I'm still doing what I'm passionate about. Making a difference in individuals life , during a time when they need some assistant , guidance , and most of all compassion. Myself along with our team of social workers are fulfilled knowing that we can serve our residents, during what could be a difficult transition for residents and families.
My first exposure to the field was as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a nursing home. I had never taken care of anyone but myself prior to this. At the end of the day, I knew this was the field that I wanted to pursue and further my career. Over the years my role has advanced from a Certified Nursing Assistant, to a Licensed Practical Nurse and currently, as a Registered Nurse.
Throughout this journey, I am just as passionate and fulfilled just as I was the first day that I cared for my first resident. I sincerely feel that I received more from these encounters with our residents than I give.
I have worked at Putnam Ridge for the past 10 years, and have seen the organization change and grow over the years, always with our residents in mind.
I work with a wonderful team, who are doing what they do for all the right reasons.
I have been at Putnam Ridge for the past 15 years. My knowledge and understanding of our units and having a close relationship with the staff, enables me to give valued feedback to families when touring our wonderful facility. Meeting families and supporting them through their heart felt decisions is most rewarding.
I also work closely with our nurse liaison, hospital case managers, community agencies as well as physicians, in placing potential residents into the appropriate level of care in the facility. I am proud to be a part of a very interactive team that puts our residents first.
With an MBA in healthcare marketing, I have devoted my career to health and wellness initiatives as a resource to patients, their families and professionals. My pharmaceutical background has lead me to working in the sub-acute care setting for the last 8 years where I am often educating and advocating for individuals seeking care, and working with provider organizations. After the loss of my father, my career took on a personal note and I am passionate about working on behalf of families and their loved ones. Whether it is at the patient's hospital bedside, organizing a social event, or attending a chamber meeting, my goal is to function as a valuable asset and resource for Putnam Ridge!
I have worked In the field of Healthcare since graduating from High School. I have always wanted to help people; starting in my childhood when I was the Army nurse in our backyard!
One of my accomplishments has been to include family members in the medical planning of their loved ones. I believe that taking care of the patients needs while including the family, allows for a better healing process. I enjoy listening and sharing in the experiences of those who I meet.
My position as Nurse Liaison gives me the opportunity to speak with patients and their families and hopefully, to make a positive difference in their lives.
I have been in the healthcare field for the past 12 years. I hold certification from the National Certified Council for Activity Professionals in Memory Care and as an Activity Director. I have always enjoyed putting events and programs in place that enhance the quality of life for our residents. We always have something special happening and many choices for our residents to make. It continues to be my privilege to continue to enrich the quality of care for the residents in our facility.
Jeanne Hubner, RN, MSN, CNP
It has been my privilege to practice my profession for 30 plus years in a variety of settings. The past 10 years at Putnam Ridge have allowed me to utilize my unique set of experiences while enjoying continuous growth and fulfillment in caring for this geriatric population in long term care , along with those residents in our sub- acute rehabilitation unit.
I am proud to be part of a team of professionals who are positive, conscientious and caring while providing excellent care for our residents. I enjoy working each day with this terrific team to contribute to the quality of life for each resident here at Putnam Ridge.
I have worked at the Ridge for the past 15 years. During that time I have held several key position in nursing throughout the facility.
For the past 3 years I have been the unit manager on the short term unit. While all the positions have been rewarding, the ability to work with the team in getting residents to heal and get stronger, has not only been inspirational, but it's most rewarding to see them return home to their families. Life is a beautiful thing!
I began my nursing career over 30 years ago, and for the past 7 years, I have dedicated myself to working with people living with dementia. I strive to ensure that our residents have fulfilling experiences in their day to day activities. Maintaining residents individuality and interests are key to their happiness. I have explored new and innovative means of reaching out to those struggling with the confinement that Alzheimer's and dementia may impose on them, by utilizing cutting edge techniques such as employing music therapy, movement and a variety of stimulation activities to optimize engagement and connection. I especially take pride and enjoyment in making a difference in the residents lives, encouraging them and supporting them through every stage of their life while protecting their safety, nurturing their family ties and offering new experiences.
I'm a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist by the State of New York. I have a Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition and completed my Internship at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital. I've been an RD for many years and have worked with all ages but love working with the Geriatric population.
